Meet your COE RCA'S

Hi!

We are the 2019-2020 College of Education Residential College Ambassadors Kenzie and Erika. Our job is to mentor first-year students promoting academics and providing students resources. We plan events, act as a liaison between students and faculty and serve on committee and councils to provide students with resources and promote success.

RCA Erika:

Hi, my name is Erika Gorgonio and I am a first-year RCA. I am currently a sophomore at NAU. I am double majoring in Special and Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish. This a Bachelor of Science of Education, graduating with a dual certificate in Special and General Education. I enjoy helping others as much as I can, being the reason why I took this position. As RCA, I get the opportunity to help students with their adjustment in college. My experience so far has been unforgettable and I enjoy working with you all. We bring this blog to you in hopes of providing resources and information you may need about practicum!! Before you continue with the rest of the blog, here are some fun facts about me!! I love Disney (I am always at Disney), I have a twin brother (he is pictured above) and I am from California!!

RCA Kenzie:

Hi, my name is McKenzie Bluhm and this is my first year as an RCA. I am currently a sophomore planning to graduate early. I am majoring in Special and Elementary Education and this is a Bachelor of Science of Education and is a dual certificate for both SPED and Gen Ed. I am passionate about making a difference and bring a "safe" place for people to come to. I have had a wonderful experience not only as an RCA but as a COE student. My role as an RCA has been made so much easier for me as I am experiencing, first hand, what my students are going through in all of their course work. I hope this blog helps and provides some great and useful information that you can take into your next steps as COE students. Some fun facts about me are I love Disney, I talk in my sleep and my favorite workout is Barre3!

Becoming an RCA has led us to build a forever friendship (with countless dutch runs) and allow us to do what we love most, helping others. We have been able to support many of you guys through your first year and we wish to continue that. Our goal with this blog is to answer any questions you may have about practicum!! Practicum is an important part of your educational career and we want to ensure you have all the information you may need. This blog will contain student teacher's experiences, the different practicum cohorts, our experiences, FAQS, and other important topics.
